T-NATAL – YOUNG PARENTS’ SUPPORT

The T-natal project at Keighley Healthy Living helps to improve the health and wellbeing of young parents and their babies.

We work in partnership with health professionals, other organisations and agencies to offer a tailor made package of support around pregnancy and parenting.

The support we offer can include:

  • Making decisions about pregnancy
  • Prepare 4 Parenthood sessions
  • Supporting a healthy pregnancy
  • Preparing for baby arriving
  • Practical support around basic care of baby 
  • Roles & responsibilities of parenting 
  • Safe relationships and sexual health
  • Support with benefits and applying for housing
  • Returning to education and accessing childcare
  • Maintaining good maternal mental health

Prepare 4 Parenthood will help young parents gain the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions in pregnancy and to go

ive them the information and skills to prepare them for parenthood.

We offer antenatal sessions as and when necessary either as a group or one to one.

  • You will receive information on:
  • Being healthy in pregnancy
  • Bonding with baby
  • Preparing for baby’s arrival
  • Preparing for labour and birth
  • Practical skills around feeding, changing , bathing and routines
  • Gaining confidence, knowledge, practical skills..and lots more.

Our teenage pregnancy support service is available online as well as in person.  This friendly online page allows you to connect to our activities as well as support provided by other services across Keighley.

We have lots of practical advice to help you in your breastfeeding journey, with a variety of ways to access support at the moment:  Join the Bradford Breastfeeding Page or Text 667777 with your name, postcode, and Baby’s date of birth and a mentor will get back to you.  Alternatively phone the NCT support line  0300 330 0700
