Keighley Community and Family Hub officially opens in Keighley town centre

News

We are excited to announce the opening of the Keighley Community and Family Hub in the heart of Keighley town centre.

This hub shows what can be achieved when partners come together with a shared purpose. Keighley is leading the way with this model, it reflects the vision of the NHS Long Term Plan by addressing health inequalities, and bringing prevention and community‑based care into the spaces where people live their daily lives. We are proud to be part of a partnership at the forefront of this work.

We are proud to be part of this new space on Bow Street, created through a strong partnership between Keighley and Shipley Family Hub, Keighley Healthy Living, and Modality AWC. Supported by investment from the district’s Family Hubs and Start for Life programme, this hub represents our shared commitment to improving health and wellbeing for families and people of all ages.

Our collaboration is driven by a clear ambition: to respond to long‑standing health challenges in Keighley – such as low vaccine uptake, low breastfeeding rates, and delays in accessing early midwife appointments – and to offer families a welcoming, central place to find the support they need.

The hub was officially opened on 5 March by our Chair of Trustees, Pam Essler, who said: “The opening of Keighley Community and Family Hub marks a significant milestone for all the partners and for local people – bringing health support, community wellbeing, and family activities together under one roof, to connect people with the right support at the right time.”

The new hub will host a wide range of activities and services, including:

  • Regular vaccination clinics delivered by Modality
  • Baby Day Mondays, led by KHL in partnership with midwives and health visitors
  • Family Navigator drop‑ins and parenting sessions from the Family Hubs
  • Activities and support from other local organisations, helping to build a vibrant, accessible ‘one‑stop shop’ for families and the wider community

Partners across the district have welcomed the opening, recognising its role in giving children and young people the best start in life and strengthening community‑based care.

Bradford District’s Family Hubs continue to support families with children and young people up to age 19 (or 25 for those with SEND). This new hub expands the support available locally and will work alongside Rainbow Family Hub on Braithwaite Grove.

You can find Keighley Community and Family Hub on Bow Street, part of the Airedale Shopping Centre and directly opposite Keighley Bus Station – making it easy to reach by public transport. Information about the hub is available on Bradford District’s FYI website, with the full timetable published from April under the Keighley and Shipley Family Hub section.

Families are warmly invited to drop in to Baby Day every Monday between 9.30am and 2.30pm (excluding Bank Holidays). For vaccination information, please contact Modality AWC.
