Our Projects
Through our projects, we offer opportunities for social interactions and lifestyle change, activities to build skills, confidence and knowledge and create connections between people, and connect with clinical and other services. Our projects funnel into our service delivery and support our mission to supporting people to enable them to manage their health and wellbeing, leading to improvement in quality of life.
Alongside the projects that we lead on, KHL are involved in other programmes that support health and wellbeing in the community.
MAST
MASTÂ (Multi-Agency Support Team)Â is an award-winning service providing support at Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale General Hospital, and in the community on discharge. Referrals come directly from the hospital staff.
Working in partnership, we deliver peer support to provide people with the help they need to get to the root of the challenges they face.
Each organisation focuses on a different specialist area, including mental health, alcohol use, frailty, social prescribing providing support to frequent attenders, enabling and supporting timely discharge, reducing risk, and reducing admissions.
This project is a collaboration between The Cellar Trust, Project 6, Carers Resource, Keighley Healthy Living and HALE.
Pathways
Keighley Pathways works with people who are facing challenges and feel they might be at a crisis point. The service offers both face-to-face and telephone appointments to provide specialist advice around a range of social issues, information, and referrals to local services. The Keighley Pathways team work alongside you to help find solutions to problems that are negatively impacting on your wellbeing.
This service is for you if you are:
- Over 18
- Living in the Keighley District
This project is a collaboration between The Cellar Trust, Citizens Advice Bureau, Keighley Healthy Living, Roshni Ghar, Project 6, Staying Put and Carers Resource.

Takeaways
We are supporting fast food takeaways in the Bradford district to develop a healthy approach to the food they sell. During the project, we are offering one to one business coaching to implement small cost-effective changes, nutritional advice and support for menus and promotional materials, with the goal of encouraging vendors to offer healthier options.
This project is a collaboration between Living Well, Keighley Healthy Living and Participate.
To find out more about the Takeaways project, please call 01535 677177.
KCAN
Due to many people in our community struggling to get access to a GP or health professional, the KCAN project was launched with the intention of having a ‘health champion’ within every community centre or local community organisation in the area.
Each ‘health champion’ is trained on health matters such as cancer (signs/symptoms/screening), stopping smoking, diet and fitness. Clients accessing support at these organisations can then speak to someone who has some basic information and will know where to look and signpost if they need specialist guidance.
This partnership project is led by KAWACC, with Keighley Healthy Living and approximately 12 other organisations in Keighley.
To find out more about KCAN, please call 01535 667359.
Healthy Holidays
Throughout the school holidays, KHL provide free events and activities for children receiving free school meals. The sessions include crafts, cooking, baking and holiday themed fun e.g. Easter hunts, visits from Santa etc.
The Healthy Holidays programme supports the Maternity, Young Parents and Families project and although we advertise the activities outside of KHL, the families that we support often attend the activities provided.
To find out more about upcoming events, please call 01535 677177.
If you are ready to make a change to your lifestyle, and improve your health and wellbeing, please contact our friendly team who will discuss how KHL can support you.
